Installation¶
Images can be downloaded from duranium.nura.eco. Currently there is only a limited selection of devices supported. Follow the steps and make sure to verify the checksums of the downloaded file at the end so you know you’ve got a valid file.
sha256sum <file name>
The output should match the SHA256 hash as displayed on the webpage.
Flashing¶
The downloaded image is a raw image file compressed using ZSTD. It can only be installed when the device is running a bootloader that supports UEFI, like u-boot for phones (join #u-boot-releases:postmarketos.org on Matrix or #tauchgang on OFTC for IRC if you need any help with that) or regular x86_64 machines. When it does, make sure it’s booted into that bootloader and it’s partitions show up on the host you’re installing from. Make sure you’re not currently booted from the same disk you’re installing too, you can first install Duranium to a live USB and then install to the target disk from there instead if you are.
Once the target disk is available you can flash the system to it by decompressing the target file and using some flashing utility to write it to the disk.
zstd -d -c <file> | sudo dd of=/path/to/target/disk && sync
