Welcome to the Duranium documentation!

Duranium is a project within Nura to build an atomic and immutable version of our operating system. In this system /usr is read-only and can not be modified. Updates are applied atomically and to a second partition (in an A/B scheme). Only when the system is rebooted will the update be in effect by booting to the other (B) partition. If booting for some reason failed, the partition (B) is marked as dirty and the system will automatically boot back to the initial partition (A) so the user always retains a working installation.
